This is a fantastic tool for the people learning Ol-Chiki. I quickly checked the tool and found working perfectly including usage of different tudeg. Wanted to thanks the team working for such developmental tool and wishing them to do more and more such useful tools for enhancement of Santali language using Ol-Chiki.
Thank you for the kind words Raj babu. We continue to learn and improve and the larger credit goes to people like yourself who are working towards promoting the use of Santali on digital mediums. Hadn’t it been Ramjit’s constant review and guidance, we could have never managed to build this.

While technologically I would appreciate the attempt but the direction in which this work has been done looks despicable to me. There are many drawbacks to OlChiki script and only one strong point in its favour i.e. Santal identity. While this script cannot represent checked consonants correctly (Choksi – “From Transcript to“Trans-Script”: Romanized Santali across Semiotic Media”) and is leading to gradual corruption of the language, Choksi has also highlighted how religion was used as a means to propagate this script which ultimately has resulted into a great divide within the largest tribe of India. You, my dear friend, have helped in continuing a fire which you think is being used to cook food but rather it is being used by propagandists to burn houses.
Dear Prashant babu, so sorry to hear how you perceive about the ability of this this tool. It is merely a tool for converting legacy text — that is already typed in Ol chiki with an outdated encoding standard — into Unicode. Many Santali speakers were involved in the development process of this tool, and we strongly believe that the it has no such abilities that your allegations state. However, we consider ourselves to be in the service of the Santali community including yourself, and we will leave it to the larger Santali community to debate and have a consensus on the use of Ol Chiki. Unfortunately, a page for a technical tool is not the right place for such debates for many obvious reasons.

Thanks for doing this text, but if you paste an English text copy in it, it comes in Santali language in Ol Chiki script but like writing in English. It would have been better to come in Santali language.
